Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems Corporation has acquired Australia-based TrakHealth.

An application partner of InterSystems since 1991, TrakHealth develops and markets TrakCare, an enterprise-level web-based health information system deployed in 25 countries. Under the terms of the agreement, TrakHealth will operate as an independent subsidiary of InterSystems, with its own sales force.

InterSystems is a provider of database and integration software. According to the company, its product line includes the InterSystems CACHÉ object database, InterSystems Ensemble rapid integration platform, and InterSystems HealthShare platform for regional and national electronic health records.
