Henry Schein Upgrades

Melville, N.Y.-based Henry Schein Medical Systems, the medical software division of Henry Schein Inc., has rolled out version 5.0 of MicroMD EMR, an electronic medical record (EMR) system based on specialty-specific clinical workflows.

The primary feature of this software is integration with the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, the largest national electronic prescribing system, operated by SureScripts, for electronic prescribing and refill authorization, which is a faster and safer method than existing processes, the Henry Schein claims.

Version 5.0 of MicroMDalso allows physicians to directly access patients' diagnostic data from their electronic medical records.
