Spectrum Health , a seven-hospital system located in Grand Rapids, Mich., is deploying Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems Ensemble software across the entire enterprise for integration initiatives.

The software is being implemented to provide the capabilities needed to enable Spectrum to move to a services oriented architecture (SOA) approach and create a federated software environment, says the company. Spectrum is working to migrate all applications and data repository interfaces to Ensemble by the second quarter of 2009.

Spectrum Health is a not-for-profit health system with 14,000 employees, 1,500 medical staff members and 2,000 volunteers committed to delivering quality care.
