Wayne State University Physician Group, a non-profit, multi-specialty physician practice group which operates more than 100 medical practices and provides primary and specialty medical services to more than 670,000 patients annually throughout Detroit, Mich., has selected the Santa Monica, Calif. -based Orion Health Rhapsody Integration Engine to help create an exchange of clinical and demographic data between hospitals, medical centers, and their own offices.

Like most large, integrated health care facilities, Wayne State University Physician Group needed an easier way to collect and manage patient data independent of their existing facility-based information system and electronic health record (EHR). Previously, single point-to-point data collection occurred at disparate locations, where now with the Rhapsody Integration Engine, complete data can be shared throughout their facilities.

Orion Health solutions use standards-based technology to integrate data within a facility and external partners without incurring costly rip and replace approaches. Currently the company helps facilities and healthcare communities that connect 35 million patients with hundreds of thousands of active users.
