The New York-based Brooklyn Health Information Exchange (BHIX) has awarded a contract to implement a clinical portal and information exchange to Mason, Ohio-based MedPlus, the healthcare IT subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics (Lyndhurst, N.J.).

According to the company, the MedPlus system will enable physicians and other healthcare workers to securely collect, manage and share patient information in real time from Internet-enabled locations across the BHIX's 11 partner organizations.
