The National Alliance for Health Information Technology will hold public forums at HIMSS to gather input for its project to define key HIT terms.
A forum focused on defining the terms health information exchange (HIE) and RHIO will be held Feb. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. Another forum focused on defining the terms EHR, EMR and PHR will be held Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. These meetings will follow a public forum scheduled for Jan. 16 in Washington, D.C., where the five HIT terms referenced above will be discussed.
More information about all three forums, as well as the registration form for participants, can be found at http://definitions.nahit.org/forums.php. There are no registration fees associated with these events.
The definitions project is sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology.
