The Maryland Hospital Association (Elkridge, Md.) has selected Nashville-based Emdeon, a provider of revenue and payment cycle management solutions, as the electronic data interchange provider for Maryland hospitals.

Through the partnership, MHA looks to advance the development of HIPAA administrative transactions between Maryland hospitals and the major payers in the state and result in improved electronic efficiencies, says the company.

The MHA represents 47 hospitals and health systems in Maryland.
