The Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha, Neb.), a 689-bed academic hospital, is replacing its existing PACS with Alpharetta, Ga.-based McKesson’s Horizon Medical Imaging.
With the selection, the hospital — which performs around 250,000 imaging procedures each year, including cardiacCT to digital mammography — hopes to improve overall radiology workflow and increase satisfaction for its 1,000 physicians, according to the company. Horizon Medical Imaging features an intuitive, physician-friendly interface and is able to integrate with existing solutions and support Nebraska’s mission-critical system, says McKesson.
Implementation is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009.
Nebraska Medical Center is the teaching hospital for the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
