MedAssets to Acquire Accuro

MedAssets, Inc. (Atlanta), a provider of cost management services to healthcare companies, is buying Dallas-based Accuro Healthcare Solutions, Inc.

MedAssets, Inc. (Atlanta), a provider of cost management services to healthcare companies, is buying Dallas-based Accuro Healthcare Solutions, Inc. for $350 million, including $100 million of debt.

According to MedAssets, the acquisition will expand its position in hospital-based revenue cycle management by creating a broader suite of ASP-based solutions. The combined customer base will include more than 3,300 U.S. hospitals.

MedAssets will pay $207 million in cash and 8.85 million shares of its stock, plus a deferred payment of $20 million due 12 months after the deal closes. MedAssets expects its net revenue for the first quarter of 2008 to be between $58 and $59 million.
