The State of New Jersey has awarded a sixth consecutive major grant for healthcare labor and workforce development to the Stevens Healthcare Educational Partnership (SHEP) to support a comprehensive healthcare educational initiative in Central Jersey. The $350,000 grant will fund new opportunities for a group of Stevens faculty and students to provide vital training and education in patient care, organizational development, computer skills and medical translation to CentraState Healthcare System, which includes a medical center, clinics and aging residencies in Freehold, N.J. Led by Dr. Don Lombardi, Industry Professor of Healthcare and Program Director for Healthcare Leadership and Management at Stevens’ Howe School of Technology Management, SHEP works to develop the healthcare education infrastructure across the state by creating long-term partnerships with CentraState and other organizations. This grant will also help Stevens boost its leadership in innovative healthcare leadership and management education by allowing it to expand existing curricula as well as launch a new medical translation and community communication training curricula.
