Baptist Memorial Health Care with headquarters in Memphis, Tenn., has selected RelayHealth (Atlanta) to establish an enterprise health information exchange (HIE) among its 14 hospitals, 250 employed physicians, thousands of affiliated physicians, and hundreds of thousands of patients to improve care coordination in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas. The RelayHealth HIE solution, will facilitate electronic communications and support the health system’s initiative to enhance patient and physician satisfaction.
Baptist Memorial Health Care’s immediate clinical integration objectives are to put in place an enterprise health information exchange that connects multiple electronic health record (EHR) deployments for 250 employed physicians, and then expand to its affiliated physicians’ community. After establishing this connectivity, Baptist Memorial Health Care plans to connect to the local and state HIEs across Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas. RelayHealth’s demonstrated success in both connecting inside the enterprise as well as outside the delivery system to other HIEs was critical in the decision-process.
The RelayHealth HIE solution also offers advanced patient engagement which includes physician referral requests, the delivery of lab and radiology results, and access to Personal Health Records (PHRs) that are automatically updated via the health information exchange.
