The BloodCenter of Wisconsin, Community Blood Center of Kansas City and the U.S. Department of Defense are using software from Mediware Information Systems to analyze blood management effectiveness. The software, InSight Performance Management tracks performance and drive efficiencies to help reduce blood costs and improve transfusion safety.

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin and Kansas City based Community Blood Center are planning to offer InSight software dashboards to their hospital customers as a value-added service, enabling their hospital customers to proactively monitor current performance in transfusion services, identify key trends and be advised when targets are not being met.

These blood centers are also planning to leverage the InSight software to monitor internal performance to help ensure that efficiency, inventory and revenue targets are being met. The InSight software provides both analytics capabilities as well as hundreds of indicators including 'Flash Alerts' based on near real-time performance data.

InSight can combine data from lab and transfusion systems, patient electronic medical records and even the hospital employee systems to present comprehensive dashboards to better manage current performance levels.
