The Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO), which runs the state’s health information exchange (HIE), has announced a partnership with the a large primary care practice association in the Denver area, which will add 175-plus practitioners to the exchange.
"PPP is a longtime innovator in healthcare and being one of the first groups to connect to CORHIO's HIE further proves our dedication to moving healthcare forward," Michael Archer, M.D., PPP board president and physician at Complete Family Medicine, said in a statement. "We made the decision as a group to invest in this technology, but ultimately it's an investment in our patients and their health."
Archer’s Complete Family Medicine, a three-physician practice in Westminster, Colo., is the first of many practices that will be linked to this HIE. Already CORHIO has connected 27 hospitals, more than 300 office-based providers, 28 long-term and post-acute care facilities, two behavioral health centers and two large medical laboratories to the exchange. The goal, CORHIO says, is 1,000 office-based providers.
