HCI is teaming with CHIME to host a “Tweet Chat” for those who want a better understanding of the meaningful use regulatory demands from the federal government.

Healthcare Informatics is teaming with the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) to host a “Tweet Chat” for those who want a better understanding of the meaningful use regulatory demands from the federal government.

The Tweet Chat will take place today from 1:30 to 2:30 pm EDT. CHIME’s Vice President of Public Policy, Jeffrey Smith and HCI Editor-in-Chief, Mark Hagland will be the featured tweeters and hosting the chat will be Healthcare Informatics Senior Editor, Gabriel Perna. For those that don’t know what a tweet chat is, it’s a conversation on Twitter between users with one consistent hashtag.

Those who wish to ask questions to Smith and Hagland on the meaningful use regulations can use the hashtag, #HCIChat and fire away.  If you wish to follow along and participate, @CIOCHIME, @HCInformatics, @jefferyrlsmith, @MarkHagland, and @GabrielSPerna will also be essential handles to follow along with the hashtag.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released the final rule for Stage 2 modifications. This Tweet Chat will focus on the updated requirements for eligible providers (EPs) and eligible hospitals (EHs) and the timing of the program. We’ll also talk about other meaningful use topics, including whether or not a large number of providers are going to drop out of the program due to lack of readiness and if the Stage 2 requirements are achievable within the required time frame or not.

We invite you to join us today! Follow @HCInformatics and @CIOCHIME for more information on this Tweet Chat.
