MGMA Names New President and CEO

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has named Dr. Halee S. Fischer-Wright, M.D., its new president and CEO, effective March 23.

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has named Dr. Halee S. Fischer-Wright, M.D., its new president and CEO, effective March 23.

Dr. Fischer-Wright is a nationally recognized healthcare executive and physician leader currently serving as Chief Medical Officer, St. Anthony North Health Campus (Westminster, Colo.), which is part of the Centura Health System. She started her own successful medical practice early in her career, has spent time as a management consultant, and served as president of Rose Medical Group in Denver, a 680 physician PHO/MSO for 12 years, according to an MGMA press release. She also co-authored the New York Times bestselling book, Tribal Leadership and is a nationally recognized speaker.

“Dr. Fischer-Wright’s unique expertise and experience from working in both clinical and administrative roles will be critical in helping MGMA members prepare for value based payments and leverage the full clinical and operational power of their practices to enhance patient care in their practices and position them for this success,” Debra J. Wiggs, MGMA Board chair, said in the press release. “We know that she will inspire MGMA members to consider new and innovative ways to run their organizations and serve patients.”
