Elekta Launches New Analytics Platform

April 15, 2015
Elekta introduced Elekta Healthcare Analytics, a solution for accelerating data analysis for clinical and operational decision-making, at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s 2015 conference (HIMSS15).

Today, Elekta announced the release of its new knowledge management solution, Elekta Healthcare Analytics, at a hosted breakfast seminar, "Using Oncology Data to Better Manage Population Health."  This new analytics platform will help healthcare organizations harness enterprise-wide data to help reduce costs, improve quality, manage resource utilization, standardize care and improve patient satisfaction.

“Oncology centers generate enormous volumes of data. By achieving a better understanding of these data, providers will be better equipped to manage increasing numbers of patients,” says Todd Powell, Executive Vice President, Elekta Software. “And this information will be crucial to tailoring care to each patient, fine-tuning therapy strategies and practice quality, and improving performance. The real-time dashboards in Healthcare Analytics will help providers to make confident, evidence-based decisions, using the insights these data offer.”

This morning, Anna Theriault, Global Director of Data and Analytics, presented the new platform and demonstrated how it can improve both clinical andoperational efficiency at cancer centers across the nation.  The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will be among the first users of this new platform in its own radiation oncology practices.

“MD Anderson annually treats thousands of patients with radiation therapy, so it’s important that we use a system that enables us to not only capture these critical patient data, but also to leverage that information to implement ongoing improvements in patient care,” says Robin Famiglietti, MBA, PhD, FACHE, Executive Director and Division Administrator, Radiation Oncology. “Elekta Healthcare Analytics provides us with a tool to qualify and quantify how we’re doing, and how we can better serve our patients’ needs moving forward.”
