LeanTaaS transforms hospital and infusion center operations for 180+ health systems across 1,000+ hospitals and centers through AI/ML-powered software and services

LeanTaaS transforms hospital and infusion center operations for 180+ health systems across 1,000+ hospitals and centers through AI/ML-powered software and services that combine lean principles, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and machine learning. LeanTaaS’ iQueue product suite unlocks hard-to-reach capacity in asset heavy areas of the hospital like operating rooms, inpatient beds, and infusion chairs. Results of the systems-focused iQueue solution include increased capacity for surgery caseloads, enhanced staffed-room utilization and block utilization in ORs, lower patient wait times, decreased staff overtime, and increase in bed turns.

Please describe the broad category of solution(s) that your company offers.
Hospital operations software

What is the problem set of area of need that your solution addresses?
Rising inflation, staffing shortages, a burnout crisis, and increased patient demand have coalesced to threaten both financial solvency and patient care delivery. Margins remain tight and 50% of nurses have considered leaving nursing due to ongoing systemic staffing shortages. More than ever, hospitals need to do more with less — safely and sustainably. Traditional approaches to capacity management fall short. Health systems need technology solutions that deliver real ROI and guaranteed results.

Briefly describe what your solution/set of solutions does.
LeanTaaS transforms hospital and infusion center operations for 180+ health systems across 1,000+ hospitals and centers through AI/ML-powered software and services that combine lean principles, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and machine learning. LeanTaaS’ iQueue product suite unlocks hard-to-reach capacity in asset heavy areas of the hospital like operating rooms, inpatient beds, and infusion chairs. iQueue is a lightweight IT implementation that works with all EHRs. With iQueue, hospitals know what’s coming and can make timely, confident, and proactive decisions to match available resources and staff with demand. This directly impacts both patient care and provider experience. With iQueue, patients don’t wait weeks for surgery or chemotherapy, nurses don’t miss lunch, surgeons don’t worry about ORs sitting empty, staff are freed from manual data entry, and no one waits in the ED because an inpatient bed is always available.

What sets us apart is our magic equation of AI, data hygiene and workflow automation, and change management services. A dedicated team, assigned to each client, is responsible for working hand in hand to guarantee outcomes by: implementing our technology, enabling the process change, training all end users, establishing required systemwide governance, and ensuring ongoing success. This powerful combination of software and services is essential to deliver long-term and sustainable growth, ROI and “systemness”.

Results include:

  • On average, LeanTaaS customers see an annual impact of performing 30-50 more cases per OR/year and generating an additional $20k/infusion chair and $10k/inpatient bed annually.
  • Overall, by improving operational efficiency, LeanTaaS helps health systems improve EBITDA by 2-3%.
  • 7% staffed room utilization increase and a 5% block utilization increase in ORs
  • 30% lower patient wait times, 50% less staff overtime, and 15% patient volume growth in infusion centers
  • 20% increase in bed turns, 35%+ decrease in ED and PACU boarding, and 44% reduction in core staff floating in inpatient areas

How would you best categorize what your solution/set of solutions accomplishes?

  • Reduces healthcare costs (Overall, by improving operational efficiency, LeanTaaS helps health systems improve EBITDA by 2-3%. And by fully utilizing available assets, hospital leaders delay or avoid capital expenditures. )
  • enhances the patient experience
  • improves the care or health status of groups of patients/populations
  • improves workflow or working conditions for clinicians and other caregivers

How will your solution/set of solutions evolve forward to meet the near-term future needs of patient care organizations?
Staffing constraints are a major challenge for health systems; last year alone there were 33% more open nursing roles than three years ago and there’s an impending 90K physician shortage. This past year, with feedback from its 185 health system customers, LeanTaaS developed new product features and capabilities, powered by AI/ML and across its iQueue product suite, that reduce administrative burden, forecast staffing needs, and right-size and optimize staff assignments.

LeanTaaS also embraced the disruptive discovery of generative AI and is helping its customers leapfrog older technology and EHR constraints. In June, it launched the first-ever GAI solution for hospital operations to provide leaders with human-like conversations and actionable insights to support decision-making for patient flow, scheduling, command center, block management, staffing, and other capacity management use cases across inpatient and outpatient settings.
