The State of Mississippi’s Medicaid division is looking to integrate claims and clinical data from various health information exchanges, and will be using a product from the Emeryville, Calif.-based performance management software vendor, MedeAnalytics to do so.
The product will help the government agency’s Medicaid Electronic Health Records System (MEHRS) evolve, and act as the clinical data warehouse of record within the state. According to MedeAnalytics, it will allow physicians within the state to use the EHR, which is meaningful use certified under theHealth Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, for better care coordination of Medicaid beneficiaries. It also integrates prescription drug claims and formularies as well as provide adverse drug reaction alerts.
"We are very pleased to partner with the State of Mississippi Medicaid," stated MedeAnalytics Chairman Mike Gallagher. "The state of Mississippi has many points of access for patients, which makes the data landscape complex. We are excited to assist the state in improving quality and mitigating cost escalation."
