Premier, Johns Hopkins Announce Analytics-Focused Collaboration
Premier Inc., a purchasing organization of hospitals and health systems based in Charlotte, has announced a joint effort with Johns Hopkins Medicine on performance improvement analytics and services.
The five-year agreement will combine Premier’s performance improvement analytics and services with Johns Hopkins overall expertise in clinical research. The two organizations will implement educational and research projects that focus on areas of strategic importance to members of the Premier alliance and evidence-based analytical healthcare software programs and services.
“A central focus of the Johns Hopkins Medicine mission is to provide the best, evidence-based patient care possible and conducting research projects using performance improvement analytics will support that mission,” states Jonathan Zenilman, M.D., a professor of medicine, director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and executive medical director of Johns Hopkins Medicine Business Development and Strategic Alliances.
The two organizations have a history together. In 2013, they announced a collaborative that implemented system-wide improvements in supply chain efficiency.
