CommonWell Health Alliance announced that three new general members have joined its effort to enhance nationwide health data exchange.

Three health information technology vendors, Ability Network, eMedicalPractice and Streamline Health, are the latest general members to join the organization.

According to officials, with the addition of these members, CommonWell Health Alliance now has more than 50 members.

Minneapolis-based Ability Network is a healthcare information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare through innovative applications and data analytics. Delray Beach, Fla.-based eMedicalPractice provides real-time EHR, eRx, eLabs, ePayment, patient portal, billing and practice management integrated software for practices.

Streamline Health, based in Atlanta, supports revenue cycle optimization for healthcare enterprises with integrated solutions and analytics.

Since its start at the 2013 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference, CommonWell has continued to add new members. The Alliance’s goal is to promote healthcare interoperability, regardless of health IT vendor, geography or setting of care.

CommonWell Health Alliance now represents about 72 percent of the acute care EHR market and 34 percent of the ambulatory care EHR market, according to the organization’s officials.
