CliniSync, the nonprofit statewide health information exchange for Ohio, offered a year-end 2017 report in its January 2018 newsletter, noting that almost all of its 157 hospitals are in production or live, sending results and reports to practices.

Among the most recent hospitals to start contributing data is the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, whose facilities are now in production. The Cleveland Clinic, The MetroHealth System and OhioHealth are actively querying CliniSync for continuity of care documents (CCDs) via Care Everywhere. Mount Carmel Health System and The University Hospitals of Cleveland are also actively querying CliniSync directly from their EHRs.  Many other hospitals and EHRs are currently testing automated query and retrieve from CliniSync.

CliniSync has sent 8.1 million results, and it now has close to 13 million patients in its master patient index, up by 1.7 million since January of 2016. This means clinicians can access these patients' community health record — a longitudinal record in one place that shows encounters and patient health information at different facilities. This year, more than 248,271 records were accessed through the Community Health Record portal, giving practitioners the latest information gathered on their patients.

The latest feature — Notify — allows practices and facilities to submit a patient panel and then receive notifications when a patient is admitted or discharged from the hospital as an inpatient or from the Emergency Department. CliniSync now have 362 Notify users and has sent more than 2.6 million notifications.
