Why is this candidate a good fit for 40 under 40? 

Dr. Sarkar has been a leader in informatics within our hospital.  He has successfully led several projects within the hospital over the last 3 years.  One of the largest projects he has led is our effort to convert our medical teams from pagers to Vocera which has been well implemented. He has also facilitated curriculum and content creation with Elemeno to help support our learners.

Explain this candidate’s professional accomplishments

Dr. Sarkar graduated medical school at Tulane University in 2012 and his Pediatric Residency at Wake Forest University in 2015. He obtained board certification in Pediatrics in 2015, Pediatric Hospital Medicine in 2022, and Clinical Informatics in 2022. He became a certified Epic Physician Builder in 2014.  Dr. Sarkar has also earned his LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt in 2022.

How does the candidate show commitment to the industry and bettering their professional career?

He has presented on Clinical Informatics at Grand Rounds and a Quality Improvement Forum.  He wrote an article in the Health IT Trends section of the AAP News.  He maintains his Board Certification and Continuing Medical Education.  Yearly, he attends conferences relevant to Clinical Informatics.
