Eardley Returning to University Hospitals as CIO
Robert Eardley will become the new chief information officer at Cleveland-based University Hospitals in February 2018. Eardley previously worked at UH, serving as vice president and associate CIO from 2007 to 2011.
Eardley joined Houston Methodist in July 2011 as senior vice president and CIO of the Information Technology Division, comprised of more than 600 staff members organized into clinical, business and infrastructure teams. Houston Methodist is a $3.6 billion healthcare system consisting of eight hospitals, six emergency centers, two free-standing imaging centers, and 80 ambulatory/outpatient locations in the Houston area.
At University Hospitals he will oversee IT for a network of 18 hospitals, more than 40 outpatient health centers and 200 physician offices in northern Ohio. The system includes University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, which is affiliated with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
He is replacing Joy Grosser, who left UH after only one year there to become chief information officer of UW Medicine in Seattle.
Earlier in his career, Eardley worked in healthcare consulting with Ernst &Young, Capgemini and Accenture.
