Join Us: Healthcare Informatics and Advisory Board to Host Accountable Care Twitter Chat

Accountable care organizations will be the subject and the Bill Lynagh, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Crimson at The Advisory Board Company will be the co-host of the second tweet chat from Healthcare Informatics. The Tweet chat will take place on November 20 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm EST.

Accountable care organizations will be the subject and Bill Lynagh, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Crimson at The Advisory Board Company will be the co-host of the second tweet chat from Healthcare Informatics.

After a successful first Tweet Chat, with more than 66 contributors and nearly 600 total tweets, HCI will be hosting another one. This time the subject at hand will be accountable care. Dr. Lynagh, Chief Medical Officer of Crimson at The Advisory Board Company, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting and research firm, will join us to tweet his opinions on the struggles and successes of the accountable care movement.

The Tweet Chat will take place on November 20 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm EST.  Lynagh and HCI Editor-in-Chief, Mark Hagland will be the featured tweeters and moderating the chat will be Healthcare Informatics’ Reader Engagement Editor, Megan Combs and Senior Editor, Gabriel Perna.

Those who wish to ask questions to Lynagh and Hagland on the accountable care organizations can use the hashtag, #HCIChat and fire away. If you wish to follow along and participate, @TheAdvisoryBd@MDCrimson, @HCInformatics , @MarkHagland and @GabrielSPerna will be essential handles to follow along with the hashtag. 

Lynagh serves as CMO for Crimson, a division of The Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC. He supports Crimson partners with insight on leading and influencing the change necessary to maximize data transparency for improved health care performance using Crimson, respective of the challenges the partners may face locally.  Prior to his current role, he led the Advisory Board’s Physician Leadership Academy, teaching thousands of physicians on-site at hundreds of Advisory Board partner sites, working with the executives, clinicians, and other leaders in multiple levels and functions of health care.

Lynagh and Hagland will talk about the recently released results from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on years 1 and 2 of the Pioneer ACO program. In September, three accountable care organizations (ACOs) announced their departures out of Medicare's Pioneer ACO program dropping the total to 19.
