ONC Releases Interactive Dashboard for State Health IT Policy Levers

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) offers a number of interactive tools through its Health IT Dashboards and one new feature displays 32 distinct state health IT policy levers and examples of how states are using them to promote health IT and advance interoperability.

The State Health IT Policy Levers Compendium features an interactive map-style visualization of the policy levers compendium directory by state. A user of the dashboard can select a policy, such as accountable care arrangements, from a drop-down list and that selection creates a map that indicates the states with documented activities related to the selected policy lever. A table below the map has more detailed information, such as a description of each state’s activity and the information source.

ONC developed the Health IT Dashboards to enable the public to visualize and analyze the open data available through the healthIT.gov website.
