Last week I had the honor to attend and present at the HIT Summit in Cleveland, Ohio. The Summit series promotes improvements in the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare through information technology and facilitating knowledge exchange.
What I found intriguing about the Summit was the diversity of topics addressed by the various speakers. Cybersecurity and population health were obvious topics of discussion, but other topics ranged from Zika and Ebola menaces to Medicare Shared Services Program (MSSP) success. This was a great opportunity for IT professionals to interact and get exposure on pertinent topics affecting today’s healthcare IT services.
Of course I got to present on the impact of imaging on IT strategies. This was part of my ongoing effort to assure that IT strategies encompass imaging IT, as imaging moves beyond the classic radiology and cardiology services.
In case you missed it, there will be more Summits this year. The next up is one in May is in Chicago. Attending one of these Summits might be an effective means of staying current on relevant IT topics, and afford the opportunity to interact with your peers. Well worth the effort!
