It’s been about a year since two federal health agencies released separate, but aligned, proposed rules that affirmed their previous commitments to the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard and application programming interfaces (APIs), in a variety of different ways.  As industry observers and stakeholders anxiously await the final versions of these rules from ONC and CMS to drop, several questions still remain.
