Interoperability on FHIR

While there’s clearly no shortage of healthcare technology standards, interoperability struggles remain. FHIR hopes to change this narrative. The vast majority of other healthcare-focused standards have focused primarily on exchanging structured data and documents. FHIR, on the other hand, incorporates resources that are directed at exchanging unstructured information as well. This paper will take a deep dive into what FHIR is, why it’s different, how it will keep evolving, and what impact it will have on healthcare.
