McKesson Enterprise Information Solutions (EIS) announced the latest release of Paragon, its electronic health record (EHR) solution.
The new release of the McKesson EHR solution, Paragon 14.0, includes a number of innovative enhancements for pharmacy, lab and operating room management in order to improve clinician and financial workflows, according to the company.
Auburn Community Hospital, which is a remote hosting client of EIS located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, served as a pilot site for Paragon 14.0. “Since we went live with Paragon 14.0, we have received positive feedback from a large number of clinicians,” Christopher Ryan, chief information officer at Auburn Community Hospital, said in a statement. “They like the enhancements to workflow and the improvements in navigation. The development team has done a great job in improving the application during the beta process with a focus on enhancing the provider experience.”
The EHR system has a computerized physician order entry (CPOE) tool and can be integrated with McKesson’s OneContent enterprise resource planning (ERP) system designed to facilitate storage and retrieval of financial documents.
Additionally, the EHR system has the Paragon Laboratory Results Release Grid, Paragon Clinician Mobile on the Apple platform to facilitate the placing of orders and other mobility functions and the restructured Paragon Laboratory status capability that enables non-Paragon lab systems to update statuses within the Paragon EHR system.
