Imprivata, Google Cloud Partner to Enable Single Sign-On Access for Providers

Imprivata a Lexington, Mass.-based healthcare IT security company, has announced this week at HIMSS19 that it is partnering with Google Cloud to enable Chrome devices to work with its single sign-on and virtual desktop access platform for healthcare.

The result of the collaboration will be that healthcare practitioners, via the use of the Imprivata OneSign platform, will no longer need to repeatedly type usernames and passwords. This will save providers an average of 45 minutes per shift, per day, company officials assert.

With Imprivata, practitioners can simply tap a badge to access their Chrome workstation and get instant access to virtual desktop environments including Citrix and VMware. In addition, automatic sign-on to G Suite enables seamless access to office productivity and collaboration tools, officials pointed out.

“Working with Google Cloud, we’re able to give practitioners instant access to their virtual desktop environment, and allow patients to access entertainment and education on Chrome devices without risking exposure of protected health information (PHI),” Wes Wright, chief technology officer at Imprivata, said in a statement.

To learn more about the Imprivata partnership with Google Cloud, conference attendees can visit Imprivata booth #2959 at the HIMSS19 conference.
