Medweb Introduces Telemedicine Cloud Services

May 18, 2010

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, and SAN ANTONIO, TX, May 17, 2010 – Today at the annual meeting of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA), Medweb announced a new multi-specialty telemedicine cloud computing service that shares computing power resources to provide a telemedicine solution for healthcare facilities. Medweb’s Telemedicine Cloud is a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted cloud-computing service that enables healthcare facilities to provide sub-specialty care to patients without the risks or costs associated with patient transport. The service includes a redundant back-up and a unified database for general telemedicine, teledermatology, teleopthalmology, stroke evaluation, teleradiology and tele-echocardiography.

The hosted solution is an alternative to costly, redundant infrastructure investments. Medweb’s Telemedicine Cloud includes a 30-user license covering one clinical specialty and two facilities or providers – one sending site and one receiving site – and provides HIPAA-compliant disaster recovery with three redundant copies of each patient record. Facilities can add additional clinical specialties as needed. A mini-clinic configuration is available for small sites or group practices.

Medweb’s Web-based Telemedicine Cloud solution offers computer-based patient assessment protocols and integrates medical imaging, information management and security. Telemedicine Cloud is built on a redundant, secure and HIPAA-compliant infrastructure that is the foundation of Medweb’s healthcare IT solutions.
