OnlyBoth launches new hospital benchmarking engine

Sept. 6, 2018

OnlyBoth has launched a new benchmarking engine at BenchMine.com that provides objective, data-based comparisons of U.S. hospital performance. The Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology makes use of 130 consumer-friendly data attributes on 4,797 hospitals from CMS Hospital Compare to help the community evaluate hospitals and compare them to others nearby and nationally.

Enhanced with geolocation information, BenchMine leverages the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data on patient experience, safety, mortality, readmissions, and timely and effective care so users can evaluate hospital performance in the context of others and make informed decisions about upcoming procedures and treatments. For every hospital, information is clearly stated regarding how well it’s doing, where it could improve, what’s changed over time, and how it is—or not—best in class.

Based on academic research and user-centric web services expertise, the technology can explore a much larger space of possibilities than people can, uncovering comprehensive comparative performance insights. OnlyBoth engines carry out a massive search for all possible peer groups—beyond the usual approach of state, national, or a pre-defined group—identifying where a hospital stands out.
