Formstack releases HIPAA compliant options for online payment processing

Oct. 18, 2018

Formstack, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company, announced users can now combine Stripe and PayPal with Formstack’s online HIPAA forms. This new functionality enhances patient and client payment processes by eliminating manual data entry and uniting disparate systems for data capture and payments.

The integrations improve the patient journey by providing a convenient, secure way for patients to pay for office visits, lab tests, and treatments. Connecting Formstack to Stripe or PayPal allows healthcare providers to safely collect ePHI and process online payments on a single form. Stripe and PayPal join Formstack’s suite of HIPAA compliant integrations, which includes Salesforce, WebMerge, Google G Suite, and Dropbox.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act mandates administrative, physical and technical safeguards to ensure the integrity of protected health information (PHI). Formstack maintains compliance through data encryption, access controls, auditing and access logging, and it is continually monitored by a dedicated security team.

This announcement follows Formstack’s release of a paperless healthcare kit, which is a resource package aimed at educating healthcare professionals on the benefits of digital workflows.
