RelayHealth Releases Medication Reconciliation
Atlanta-based RelayHealth has launched IntegrateRx - Medication History, an electronic medication reconciliation solution.
According to RelayHealth, the solution is designed to eliminate blind encounters in hospital emergency rooms by providing a record of a patient's medications based on information extracted from insurance claims and/or prescription records.
New York-based Duane Reade is among those pharmacies that have agreed to make its patients' medication history records available to authorized staff at hospital emergency rooms.
Carestream Launches Updated RIS
Carestream Health Inc. (Rochester, N.Y.), a provider of medical imaging systems, has launched a pre-configured version of its Kodak Carestream Radiology Information System (RIS).
According to Carestream, the solution enables small to medium-sized hospitals to achieve desired workflow efficiencies and carry out comprehensive reporting.
An optional mammography module includes specialized scheduling, patient communication and reporting capabilities, says the company.
Geisinger and Passport Health Partner Up
Geisinger Health System (Danville, Pa.), a provider of revenue cycle management, has teamed with Passport Health Communications (Franklin, Tenn.) to create a Health Level 7-based (HL7) system for insurance eligibility and address verification.
According to Geisinger, Passport's solution, IntelliSource, integrates with Geisinger's EPIC system and can integrate with all major health information or practice management systems.
Geisinger is using Passport's IntelliSource system for eligibility and address verification, says the company. Near-term plans, contends Geisinger, are to use IntelliSource for verifying medical necessity and Passport BatchSource for claims status processing.
