Nominees must be healthcare providers or on the staff of a government institution, payer organization or nonprofit foundation. The deadline for entry is May 16.

Mitchell Adams, Executive Director, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, Westborough, Mass. Adams demonstrated leadership in assessing the readiness of hospitals to implement computer-based physician order entry (CPOE), and to develop standard requirements that will ensure usability and value from it.

Mike Barron, Health Information Network Director, The Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information, Canada. Barron's implementation of tronic health record set him apart.

Christina Birrer, Assistant Vice President, Office of the CIO, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, West-bury N.Y. Birrer's HealthPort, the North Shore-Long Island vices, but differentiated her health system from its competitors.

Eric Book, Chief Medical Officer, Blue Shield of California, San Francisco. Brook was selected for his development of effective case and disease management programs for Blue Shield of California.

John Glaser, CIO, Partners HealthCare, Boston. Glaser distinguished himself through his leadership role in the development of CIOs as well as interoperability between provider and payer organizations.

George Halvorson, CEO and Chairman, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Oakland, Calif. Halvorson spearheaded the integration of state-of-the-art IT throughout Kaiser Permanente.

Tony Linares, Medical Director, Lumetra, San Francisco. Linares is a medical leader of the Doctor Office Quality Information Technology project for the Quality Improvement Organizations designated by CMS to find a way to improve physician adoption of EMRs.

Kevin Palattao, Vice President, Patient Care Systems, HealthPartners, Minneapolis. Palattao showed leadership with his medical implementation of its electronic medical record system.

Michael Spain, CEO, Cardiology of Tulsa, Tulsa, Okla. Vision, planning, and tireless effort led Spain to the creation of the all-digital, free-standing heart hospital in 2004.
